How Nobly Works: The Whole Process, No Hype

How Nobly Works: The Whole Process, No Hype

People keep asking how this works, so here it is. No marketing spin. Just the steps, what happens at each one, and what you should actually expect.

Step 1: Upload two photos

One photo of you (or whoever the human in the portrait is). One photo of your pet. They don’t need to be from the same day, the same place, or even the same year. They don’t need to match in lighting or angle. Separate photos, uploaded separately.

Here’s what matters: faces. We need to see the face clearly. For you, that means a photo where your face isn’t obscured by sunglasses, shadow, or a hat brim covering half your forehead. For your pet, same idea — we need to see their face, their markings, the stuff that makes them look like *them* and not a generic golden retriever.

Phone photos are totally fine. You don’t need a DSLR. You don’t need a photographer. The photo you took last week of your cat judging you from the couch? That works.

What doesn’t work great: group photos where your face is tiny, photos taken from far away, photos where the pet is mid-sprint and blurred. You’d be surprised how many people send a photo of their dog that’s basically a brown streak. I get it — dogs move — but we need something where they’re at least paused for a second.

Step 2: Choose a pose

There are three poses right now.

**The Classic** — you and your pet seated together, side by side. This is the most popular one, and honestly it’s popular for a reason. It looks like a proper portrait. The kind of thing you’d see in an 18th-century manor house, except instead of a wealthy duke with a hunting hound, it’s you in your favorite sweater with a tabby cat.

**The Soul Bond** — nose to nose, eyes closed. This one is intimate. It’s quiet. Some people love it, some people feel like it’s too much. I’d say if you’re the kind of person who meditates with your dog or has full conversations with your cat, this is your pose.

**The Embrace** — cheek to head. You’re holding your pet close, cheek resting against them. It’s warm without being over-the-top. Works especially well with dogs who actually like being held, and cats who tolerate it.

You just click the one you want. That’s it.

Step 3: Choose a palette

Right now we offer warm earthy tones — think amber, ochre, deep brown, muted gold. It’s the palette that looks most like a traditional oil painting, and frankly it’s the one that looks good on every wall color I’ve seen. We may add more palettes later, but this one works so well we haven’t felt the rush.

Step 4: Get your free preview

This takes about 30 seconds. Sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more — depends on server load and whether you uploaded a photo the size of a billboard (please don’t).

The preview shows you the full composition with a watermark over it. The watermark is there because this is free and we’re a business and people would just screenshot it otherwise. But you can see everything you need to see: how the faces look, how the composition works, whether the pose feels right.

If you don’t like it, close the tab. You haven’t paid anything. You haven’t entered any payment info. You haven’t even given us your email at this point. Zero commitment. I’m not saying that as a sales tactic — I’m saying it because some people seem genuinely nervous about this and I want to be clear that you’re not getting trapped in some funnel.

Step 5: Buy (if you want)

If you like the preview, you pick your product.

**Digital download.** You get the portrait as a 4K file. Print it yourself, use it as a wallpaper, send it to your family, whatever you want. It’s yours.

**Art print (The Keepsake).** 8×10″ on museum-quality archival paper. Perfect for a desk, shelf, or bedside table.

**Canvas (The Canvas & The Grand Canvas).** Gallery-wrapped canvas in 16×20″ or 20×24″, looks and feels like an actual painting. The texture is the thing here — canvas has a weave you can see and feel, which makes the oil painting style look even more convincing. Every product tier includes the 4K digital download too.

Shipping is free and it’s express. We also have a 30-day money-back guarantee, which we’ve barely ever had to use — but it’s there because it should be.

What you’re actually getting

I want to set expectations properly because overselling is the fastest way to disappoint people.

The portrait is an oil painting–style artwork. The faces — yours and your pet’s — are rendered with a lot of detail. Recognizable. Accurate. The rest — the background, the clothing, the overall atmosphere — is painterly. Looser brushstrokes, richer texture, that quality of light you see in traditional portraiture. It’s not a photo filter. It’s not a cartoon. It’s somewhere between a photograph and something you’d see in a museum, leaning more toward the museum side.

The whole thing takes about five minutes of your time, most of which is spent deciding on a pose.

That’s it. That’s how it works.

Your bond, painted in oil.
